BROOKE GUTHRIE, RN

I was in the Army from 1997-2001 where I was introduced and fell in love with the Operating Room environment. After being honorably discharged from the military; I moved back to Oregon and pursued my goal of becoming an Operating Room nurse. I have been a Registered Nurse since 2006 and have spent my career in the perioperative setting.

I started my career in an Ambulatory Surgery Center setting and then moved on to work in hospitals, where I was a charge nurse for a couple of years. There I learned how to be a successful supervisor by leading through the example of hard work and taking pride in what I do. I continue to enjoy learning and growing with all the new technologies of the perioperative setting, teaching and mentoring our up and coming nurses, and assisting patients so that their visits in the perioperative setting are pleasant with a positive outcome.

I enjoy working at Spine Surgery Center of Eugene and all the responsibilities of management: from writing policies and procedures, to providing training to the staff, to being able to continue hands on work with the nurses and patients. Working here gives me the opportunities to do all the things I love as a nurse.

We are fully staffed with highly skilled pre-operative, operating room, and recovery room nurses. Our doctors refer to the staff as the "Dream Team" and are very happy with their performance as a team and the individual attention we are able to provide to our patients.
